On December 17, 2020, China’s Taijiquan is officially inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
The decision was made during the meeting of the UNESCO Inter-governmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage held in Kingston, Jamaica, which reviewed 50 intangible cultural heritage items declared by 57 countries.
